About Me

About Me

Born in Perth in Scotland, I moved down to England when I was 10 years old. School then took up most of my time but on our holidays we would travel up to my Grandad’s, back in Scotland where my mum would take myself and my brothers out on nature walks around the hedgerows and countryside. I found it so interesting and fascinating – learning all about the nature around us.

Those moments stayed with me throughout my life. At the age of 14, I was given a Zenith E camera – 35mm which I loved. I didn’t know a lot about photography at the time but gave it a go. Five years ago I received the camera I now use and carry it about with me everywhere I go.

I love to walk around the local country paths, kneeling to capture a ladybird or spider. Children, with their parents, will often ask me what I am photographing. It rekindled the feelings I used to feel when I was with my mum learning about the world around me...

This is where I got the idea for the Look Around books – there is so much to learn out there and you don’t even need to travel far – it’s all on your doorstep.

Let's make something great together.
